Pate has served because the assistant athletic director for exterior operations since June 2021. He replaces Brian Anweiler, who has transitioned to dean of Scholar Actions and Athletics at Wake Tech.

In his new position, Pate will present oversight of the faculty’s eight intercollegiate groups, together with sport day operations, compliance, eligibility and fundraising.
